First Day of School Aug. 25

Welcome! I am excited to get to know you and work with you this year.

Today in class we spent some time getting acquainted, welcoming new students to AHS, reviewing materials needed for class, and setting expectations.

We read and began discussing Jesus' parable of the sower (Matthew 13). Tomorrow we will continue discussing how it applies to our roles as learners this year.

Homework:

1. Tonight, please read one article from the Internet or a newspaper on a WORLD current event. (For this assignment, we will NOT be focusing on U.S. politics or current events, unless they are closely related to current events in a foreign nation.) Please print/clip the article and bring it to class with you tomorrow. Be prepared to explain it to the class.
2. Read and sign the Honor Code and Responsible Use of Technology Agreement; turn both in tomorrow if you have not yet done so.
3. Bring your emergency kit to class by the end of this week.
4. Please purchase a composition notebook (college ruled) and bring to class by the end of the week.
